About
Karen has 30 years of experience in public and higher education, dedicating her career to maximizing the potential of technology by equipping others to become strong agents of innovation and technology integrators. Coordinating professional learning initiatives at The Source for Learning enables her to create impactful professional development experiences that help educators reach every learner. Her extensive experience as an Instructional Technology Supervisor includes identifying and recruiting talent, developing a shared vision, and effectively communicating that vision to community stakeholders while building and training high-performing teams.A passionate advocate for educational technology, Karen has shared her expertise through service on the VSTE Board of Directors and presentations at regional, state, and national conferences. Her leadership roles include chairing the Consortium for Interactive Instruction (C.I.I.), a regional consortium of public and private schools in eastern Virginia. Committed to strengthening education through community engagement, she has served on the Portsmouth Schools Foundation and currently serves on the board of Dove Ministries for Children.
